Positives Vs Perceived negatives of New Farm Bills

In a bid to further open up the national market for farmers, the government has
introduced three new Farm Bills 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred the Bills
as a watershed moment in the history of Indian agriculture that will empower crores
of farmers. Opposition parties called the Bills and corporate-friendly and anti-farmer.
On September 27, 2020, it received approval from the President Ram Nath Kovind and
became Act. The Bills have faced strong protests from the farmers and opposition
parties alleging that it will hurt their earnings but the government maintains that
they will make it effortless for farmers to sell their products directly to big buyers.
AgroSpectrum analyses the newly introduced Farm Bills to scale their potential in
changing the face of the Indian Agriculture Industry.
