In this issue, we celebrate ‘International Adopt-a-Cat’ month by bringing you a variety of stories from Cat breeds, how to train them, what they’re trying to tell you, illnesses and of course, why they make a suitable pet.

Cats have been domesticated for nearly 10,000 years. The timeline reminds me of Egypt; cats were praised as much as gods there... and why shouldn’t they be? They exhibit personalities almost similar to humans. Why do cats always seem to head for the one person in the room who doesn't like them? Probably because cats think they really do: people who don't like cats tend to avoid looking at them, and cats interpret averted eyes as unthreatening, even inviting. Mysterious little ones!

The journey into pet care begins when an individual embraces the responsibilities of pet parenthood. The research undertaken by potential pet parents is fuelled by passion and a genuine eagerness to acquire knowledge.

As we bring the last edition of the year, we root our awareness in the trends of the festive season along with the necessary challenges that come from the dreaded winters. We have laid down a special holiday edition filled with inspiration to thrive amidst winter blues and address winter-related concerns that our furry pets experience.  

In this month's edition, we have meticulously curated content tailored to meet the specific needs of pet parents in today's dynamic environment. Our aim is to lighten the load for pet owners and ensure that their beloved furry companions lead fulfilling lives.

We are honoured to announce Drools’ mentorship program in conjunction to our 3rd Indian Pet Industry Dialogue. First in its initiative, Drools will mentor Fairy Tails, FluffCrew, and Licks & Crunch under their program. We are proud to be witnessing the industry’s alliance in expansion and striving for a collective growth.

We are excited to announce the resounding success of our 13th India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) and 4th Aquagic, held at Pragati Maidan on August 5th and 6th.

Every edition, a talented team of writers with expertise in pet parenthood, offer their share of insights to pet parents who are always filled with curiosity in this realm. The community which we have created has certainly evoked a sense of joy that keeps extending out through love every month.

My little fur baby sleeps at my feet every night. He devotedly watches me eat meals. He walks around the neighbourhood with me to show me his favourite spots to sniff. He jumps with excitement every time I come home. My pup has unconditional, love-of-a-lifetime feelings for me and that’s never going to change.

Someone has rightly said, there is no love greater than the love between man and his pet. Ours is a pet-loving culture. We at Creature Companion love animals. Can I say, I love them more than humans. Okay, I know we still need humans for a few things, but let me be honest: when I have the chance, I will go with animals over humans every time I can.


We are currently on the cusp of unpredictable climate change even though it’s summer. Our pets also require regular care and weather protection. Due to pet parents' growing concern for their furry children, pet parenthood appears to be on the rise.

In summer, we all love a sprinkle of cold water on our bodies, and so do our pets. Our small pets may need extra care with proper hydration.

Even if you are in a relationship, don’t forget about your true signifi cant others this Valentine’s Day—your pets. I am defi nitely going to spend this day with my best canine friend and the true keeper of my heart.

We have a lot to be thankful for in the year 2022. The year treated us well keeping Pandemic at bay and allowing us to carry on with our work at a normal pace. We, at IIPTF, witnessed overwhelming response. Exhibitors and visitors participated with gusto.

After successfully conducting the Indian Pet Industry Dialogue (IPID) and organizing India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) at Mumbai, we feel glad and relieved that we are able to make some difference for the Indian Pet Industry.

As we are heading towards the end of year 2022, we urge you to halt for a while and look back to see what value did you add to the lives of your furry ones in this year. Our pets are our cherished companions! We need to ensure that they are happy and healthy, right from their whiskers to their tails. 

I feel incredibly blessed that it's been sixteen long years since we've launched our first edition of Creature Companion Magazine. I want to thank you for being our ardent readers and providing your valuable insight on the content that we share with you.

If excited puppy tail-wagging and furry kitten yawns make you swoon, you're not alone. As humans, we've long had a fascination with our furry companions and their adorable ways. 

Pet parenting is an art, not everyone is adept at! Pets are complete living beings unto themselves, with their own temperament and personality. You may experience a constant struggle in raising them without knowing them inside out.

July is here! It’s time to sit, breathe, look out of the window, and enjoy some free time with our pets. Frequent drizzles and refreshing fragrance of soil return our affection by inspiring us to enjoy little things in life. 

Welcome to the June issue, which delivers an abundance of relevant, engaging, and fun content. The word 'outstanding' might be overused but it certainly fits when describing our story subjects.

Creature Companion Magazine is once again gearing up to organise its annual event, India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) 2022 after two years of hiatus due to Pandemic. This will be the 12th edition of IIPTF and we are working on it to make it much more effective, much more fun with ample networking opportunity. Details will keep unfolding as we go along.

Spring is Here !
No April showers just the heat but the pet industry is blooming.
Spring is when we look forward to renew commitments and engage with well being and new beginnings.

We are, shortly, going to celebrate Holi in India. It is a festival of colours, there are
different forms of celebrations however, it includes a lot of colours. Our pets do not know how festive it is to colour each other an d eat delectable sweets. For them it is a lot of noise and disturbing. Colours can also be harmful to them. Spare thoughts for voiceless dogs and cats at home as well as in streets. It is not cool to splash colour or water at them.

One of our most loved dogs Jokai died last week. He fell ill in the morning and by the night he was gone. He came to us as adult dog from a friend  who had adopted him. We dearly miss him especially when there is a storm accompanied by lighting and thunder; or when there are fire works and crackers as part of any festival or celebration since he was paranoid of loud sounds and such type of noise. 

The year 2021 ended on a great note for the Indian Pet Industry. The last two years had been challenging both mentally and psychologically for all of us all over the world; 
yet it proved rewarding  years for the Indian Pet Industry.

I had an opportunity to attend and interact with Ganesh Ramani, MD Mars Petcare in the last week of Nov during the launch of Pet Homelessness Index. My interactions with him and the whole team of Mars Petcare and other civil societies gave me more insight into the situation of Indian street dogs and cats. This initiative by Mars is praiseworthy. This will allow us to chart our way to address the pet homelessness problem.

As we are heading towards the end of year 2021, we urge you to halt for a while and look back to see what value did you add to the lives of your furry ones in this year. Those who have pets would know what happiness and well-being they bring to our lives. 

Raising a pet is an art and all pet parents are artists who create beautiful lives for their pets with the colours of compassion, understanding, happiness, kindness, and benevolence. The unique bond they share with their pets is a masterpiece, which is worth cherishing for lives! This edition brings to you the heartwarming stories of such artists, who may surprise you, inspire you, bring you a sense of awe, or may also leave you in splits! So grab a copy for yourself and please the reader and artist inside you.

In May this year, India fought with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, and thereafter the intensity of international rendezvous has amplified. There are a number of developments over the past few months which yet again send a strong message that India is there to play a significant role with the rest of the world. 


We hope all of you are having good time with your pets in this monsoon season. You get to watch rain falling, trees swaying and plants looking new and fresh along with your pets and a cup of tea and coffee. Soil is so fertile and ready to give birth to anything that you thow in the ground. However, weeds come along and so do ticks and fleas.
