The inclusion of Ramachandraiah and Srinvasa Rao (former PRP) as ministers is indicative of the growing influence of the Kapu caste in the Congress with the transport minister Botcha Satyanaryana Rao who is doubling as the APCC president. This is making Reddy castemen apprehensive of losing clout. Imbalances like lesser representation to the legislators from Telangana is also a cause of discontent. But the party assures that all these will be set right after bypolls. SUGAR CANE FARMERS IN DIRE STRAITS - Though Sugar price is high in the open market, lack of remunerative price is driving the farmers away from sugar cane cultivation.
