Highlights of India Today Malayalam issue dated March 13th, 2013. The issue looks at the 2013-14 budget presented by P Chidambaram and finds it disappointing in many respects. Though termed as a welfare budget and women oriented budget, the so called growth oriented budget is mainly targeted against the voters and not rooted in vision. In contrast India Today presents a budget which do away with subsidies and 31 ministries so that direct transfer of subsidie s would become a bigger reality. It would also Kick start the Indian economy. The issue also has an exclusive on the left`s attempt to dislodge the UDf ministry by high jacking a constituent, Kerala congress led by K M Mani.The exclusive report looks at the events which shaped such a meeting between the left leaders and K M Mani and how the vent, though denied by Mani, would undermine the UDF government. Mani's interview brings out the trapeze walker in K M Mani and he escapes like an acrobat here. The issue also looks at the Indian intelligence establishment which could not even narrowly pinpoint the accused in the Hyderabad blasts. The issue also looks at the aftermath of the Muthanga land struggle by the tribals and where do they stand now. C K Janu is interviewed here. The naxal hunting by the Kerala police which was reminiscent of the seventies also has become a joke in Kerala. Former Naxalite leader Mundur Ravunni s interviewed here.There is also an interview of the week with the stormy petrel in Tamil cinema ,the controversies queen Khusboo whose house was ransacked by her own DMK party members. It gives rare glimpse into the leader in the making. The issue also profiles MK Ramachandran whose books are sold just after MT Vasudevan Nair`s .His four books on Himalayan travel has made him a unique writer in Malayalam. Then there is the profile of Tom Joseph who has won for India the crown in volley ball. There is also a review of Shutter,a film directed by Joy Mathew ,a review on music done by VT Murali Mammootty who plays the CBI officer Sethurama Iyer for the fifth time, Hansika Motwani, Akshara and Shruthi Hassan, Mamatha Mohan das, Amala Paul, and Sanjeetha padukone are also featured in the issue. Rupesh Paul making a truce with the porn star Sherlyn Chopra,Sooraj Sharana,the lone Malayalee prsence in the oscars are also featured in the issue. Mumbai Jayasrre,India's inly hope for oscar this yaer also is featured here.
