Highlights of India Today Malayalam issue dated February 20th, 2013. The issue features a coverstory on the controversial Suryanelli sex racket case and the alleged involvement of Rajyasabha Deputy chairman P.J. Kurian in it. The story features interviews with P.J. Kurian, the victim and her parents and K.K. Joshwa, who has recently come out with open allegations about Sibi Mathews, who investigated the case. Another important and exclusive story is about T.G. Nandakumar, the controversial dealer who helped politicians like V.S. Achuthanandan and is suspected to be involved in many deals. Though the notification for the CBI inquiry recommended in 32 out of 39 cases is being sent to central personnel ministry with in 24 hours, the notification in T G Nandakumar's case being put on hold citing false reasons till he got a stay order from Supreme Court. The government's standing counsel in Supreme Court is still asking time to file counter though the case has been postponed thrice. This clearly shows that the home ministry is helping Nandakumar to evade investigation. The story also featured an interview of Nandakumar. Ice cream sex scandal involving minister for industries P.K. Kunhalikkutti is again in news with V.S. Achuthanandan, leader of opposition, receiving a copy of the case sheet in which the victims allege that they were paid to change their statements in favour of the minister. Another important story is on the suspension of DIG Sreejith on his alleged relations with controversial trader K.A. Rauf, who was instrumental in bringing out many crucial documents related to ice cream sex scandal. A profile of D B Binu, RTI activist and a sports article on Chithra and Afsal, the shining stars of the state in national athletic meet were the other attractions this week. The issue also featured Kamalini Mukherjee, Iniya, Karthika, Asif Ali, Mithra Kurian and Tapsi Pannu.
