Like every year, this year, too, Hotelier India had a blast putting together the annual power list for its 11th-anniversary issue. We drew up a list that encompassed several levels of the hospitality industry — from owners to senior management, who have had the gumption to walk a different part. They have opened new properties, often in a difficult market, they have introduced new ideas and they have ensured that the hospitality industry continues to grow in tough times, despite enough initiatives from the Indian government to support the tourism sector. The list celebrates the work of the few who have taken those risks. In July, we concluded the Hotelier India-Marriott International Design Confluence, an event that is well-received by the industry and talks about planning a hotel right from day one, to garner maximum profitability.
