March is birthday month at Culturama - it was on the 4th of this month, 19 years ago, that Global Adjustments (the company that publishes Culturama) was born. With each passing year, we look back on successes and challenges, and look ahead to the surprises a new year holds. Keeping with this spirit, we have introduced some brand new segments: get your daily dose of chai (tea) from chai wallahs across India in \'Daily Cuppa\'; learn some interesting facts about India\'s states in \'Ten for the Road\'; and laugh out loud as an expat shares her musings on life in India in \'The Lighter Side\'.

There\'s more: March is also about celebrating the strength of women with International Women\'s Day. To mark this occasion, we touch on the matriarchal communities of India in our Feature, and celebrate the many faces of the Indian woman in our Picture Story. And as we look forward to Aikya 2014 - an annual charity concert organised by Global Adjustments - we speak to the main artistes about their sources of inspiration and the power of music to weave a magical bond that reaches beyond borders. Mark the date - 28 March - in your calendars (and visit www.globaladjustments.com/aikya for more information).
