Euthanasia or Mercy Killing, an ongoing debate since decades is yet to reach a meaningful end. Many contend that it is a vital aspect of human rights and has a lot to do with living with dignity as enshrined in Article 21 of our Constitution. While the opponents argue that legalising mercy killing would give a tool in the hands of mean and cruel people to end the lives of elderly and suffering on the pretext of financial difficulties, rather than taking responsibilities and looking after them. The aspects to the discussion are numerous: morality, ethics, law, etc. to name a few and therefore the views too vary. The contentions vary so much on both sides that sometimes, it becomes difficult for a person to choose which side is he on? After the recent passing away of Aruna Shanbaug, the woman whose case brought about passive euthanasia in India, we bring to you a discussion on medico-legal aspects of euthanasia in our cover story written by Dr Sunayna Gupta Kotangale.

‘Leap Frog’ brings words of wisdom on the onset of monsoon and how this season is of utmost importance to our nation’s economy. Green Cause brings forward another important issue which is crucial for our country, i.e. giving importance to Bio Diversity.
