Housing Checks Into Infra

​After years of industry lobbying, this year's Budget has finally granted infra status to the affordable housing industry, giving the segment a big boost. But infra financing models, like the ​much-touted ​Hybrid Annuity Model​,​ ha​ve
 not really taken off. So what lies ahead for infra finance?


The budgetary support for the infrastructure industry to the tune of Rs 4 lakh crore was announced by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Feb 1, 2017.

Infrastructure Today made an honest effort to seek expectations from the budget that infra industry leaders had from the Union budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal. Post budget, the same stakeholders were asked to assess whether their expectations had been met or not.

Currently, Indian companies are compelled to maintain warehouses in as many states as they do business in, to avoid paying variable rates of taxes as prevalent in individual states.
