Pawprint Issue #111 is now available online!
2020 marks the 99th anniversary of the SPCA. The Cantonese pronunciation of “99” symbolises that happiness comes in pairs. Hence, in 2020 we would like to encourage more loving families to adopt in pairs - a pair of dogs or cats, or even adopt two different species of small animals. In this issue of Pawprint, you will find many heart-melting stories of owners keeping more than one pets at home.

Highlights in Issue 111 are:

• “Your happiness is also mine” highlighted our annual event “Dogathon” shows how a pet enriches the lives of their owners, fulfilling them and bringing unconditional love.
• "Always with you" tells a moving story of Adam and his dog Bailey. The duo has spent eight wonderful years together in Hong Kong before Adam decided to leave the city with his buddy. Adam reminded us owning a pet is a lifelong commitment, even when he moved to another country.
• “A destructive weapon: illegal traps” explains how illegal traps have hurt many animals in the past ten years, endangering the lives of stray animals as well as hikers.
• “The lasting happiness of a volunteer dog walker” - Simon shares with us his walking adventurers as a dog walker, having strolled with over 1,000 doggie friends in the past five years.
• “Double happiness for our 99th anniversary” - three families share their double happiness experienced by adopting a pair of animals. Isn't it something we all should follow suit?
• “Jewel - a treasure to be treasured” – recaps the amazing journey of an animal cruelty case victim turned a princess in a home where she has become the center of love and affection.

Pawprint Magazine Description:

Pawprint is a triannual magazine published by The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (SPCA(HK))and is distributed to approximately 30,000 readers who are concerned about animal welfare issues or are interested in learning about and promoting responsible pet ownership. Pawprint offers interesting articles on a variety of topics which range from veterinary health issues and animal rescue work to animal welfare programmes and happy adoption stories. It also shares with readers the SPCA(HK)’s works within the local community and in Mainland China. Each issue features a unique cover story on a compelling and important animal issue, provides facts and tips on pet care, offers news relating to animal events and also includes an educational children’s corner.
