在政治必須絕對正確的今日，我是中國人的身份是毋庸置疑的，不能被推翻甚至沒有任何多餘的討論空間。

這是今天活在香港的真實寫照。但是，在我初階成長的那一個年代，好像沒有太多香港人，會圍爐探討「我是誰」的問題。這條問題看似沒有深度，既非形而上亦沒有牽涉哲學層面，偏偏在還是「小學雞」的我，產生過一段時間的懊惱。1988年，10歲還未足的我在電視機上觀看漢城奧運會，看到運動員贏得奧運金牌後，大會會將其所代表的國家國旗揚揚升起，並且奏著國歌。當刻，我向母親大人問道：「如果我哋香港人贏咗，係播咩國歌㗎？」以為母親大人會三秒時間回答這位問題少年的疑惑之時，我足足待了三十多秒卻等不到她的答案，只怱怱留下一句「我都唔知噃，今晚老豆返嚟問下佢」便返回她的廚房基地。其實，我係香港人，係咪真係香港人呢？
