The idea of fairness in golf is a topic that has been debated for years. The lead story in issue 44 of Golf Course Architecture looks at whether golf needs to be fair to be good, and a number of golf course architects give their thoughts on the matter.

In the tee box section, we speak to Brian Curley about a new ten-course complex being created in Vietnam, and Drew Rogers discusses his work at Champion Trace GC in Lexington, Kentucky – a course close to the architect’s heart.
