Taking the spotlight is none other than Ryan Gorrett’s Scania T-cab. It’s an unusual truck, to say the least – and the story of how it has evolved at the family firm of D&F Super Cranes makes for very interesting reading.
But this T-cab isn’t the only headline-grabbing truck we have in store – another is DSL Commercial’s mighty DAF XG+, which carries the Royal Mail logo thanks to its work collecting the postal company’s trailers for repair. It’s a fine new flagship that’s had loads of bells and whistles added (not literally, that would be weird).
Also of note is Thompson Transport’s big-power TGXs. Packing meaty 15-litre D38s, the Irish fleet has won awards for its trucks and the operator is a staunch supporter of MAN.
Elsewhere this month, Dougie has been out for a week road-testing one of Shuttleworth’s manual XF dairy tankers. It’s Team T&D regular Joe Ashton’s truck and working it has certainly been an eye-opener – but how did the stick-shifting DAF hold up in Dougie’s hands? Find out inside!
