The oil and gas industry works in remote and often hostile environments and is increasingly turning to wireless technology to communicate voice and especially data at all stages of the process: exploration; drilling; transportation, refining and retail.

Machine-to-machine (M2M) technology has evolved enormously in the last five years. Wireless analyses the current state of play, examines the challenges ahead and talks to partners in the M2M stack and the end-to-end providers who are making it easier and less costly for enterprises to adopt M2M.
