Feeling refreshed after a redesign, GW returns this month with another issue packed full of great projects, techniques, features and regular pages for you to enjoy. Our cover star this month is sculptural woodworker Mark Doolittle, whose pieces really need to be seen to be believed. We were lucky enough to speak to this amazingly talented maker to find out how he celebrates biology through the medium of wood – and if you’re wondering how it’s done, he tells all in his carving masterclass. Projects include part 2 of Shaun Newman’s ukulele build, Carl Jacobson’s folding cedar lawn chair and Les Thorne’s turned apple and rosewood box, and if you’ve been following Michael Huntley’s new series then he returns again this month with a discussion on free-standing structures.
We also have Edward Hopkins’ latest article, which sees him creating his own set of tubular bells and in ‘Centrefold’, Made by 68° unveil their latest piece.
