Straight-Up: Traps by ERIC FLEISHMAN
When an actor rolls into Hollywood, his ability to emote on camera is pretty important. But everyone knows that to really make it, you need connections. Your body is a lot like Tinseltown—the right connections make the difference. To me, the most important connection in the human body is the one that joins the shoulders with the neck: the upper trapezius. Developed traps complete the athletic look and provide support to the head for dynamic activity. Here’s the most effective way to build this critical connection.
Muscle & Fitness Salutes The Greatest by MATT TUTHILL and SAM DEHORITY
A legendary competitor in all strength sports, Bill Kazmaier represents the pinnacle of what so many of us are striving for in the gym every day: raw power. From 1980 to 1982, he dominated the World’s Strongest Man competition, becoming the first competitor to win three straight titles. He lifted everything from logs to Playboy bunnies (the 1980 WSM contest included an event that required him to squat six of them), and he became the most recognisable face in a field of giants, with an intensity that was second to none.
The Greatest: Muhammad Ali by MATT TUTHILL and SAM DEHORITY
It’s nearly impossible to hear the name Muhammad Ali without a rush of timeworn images and quotes flooding our brains, so iconic is the man many boxing historians consider the greatest of all time. Close your eyes and you can see it, as clearly as if the photo were right in front of you: Muhammad Ali—then Cassius Clay—standing victorious in the centre of the ring, appearing to shout at a thoroughly beaten Sonny Liston. You can hear Ali, almost as if he were in the room with you, shouting at the top of his lungs, “I must be the Greatest!”
