This is our 9th year at Arabella, and this issue is a wonderful collection of art, sculpture and fine art craft to delight our readers. There seems to be a whole world out there of truly unique and extremely talented individuals producing art in every medium imaginable. Looking at the pages of this magazine, I am reminded of a giant jigsaw puzzle put together with colour, flow and music created by exquisitely talented and skillful artists.
 Spring 2016 issue is made up of a wildly eclectic collection of artists that explore their medium with passion, wit, humour and joy, creating a beautiful collection of paintings and sculpture for all of us to enjoy. Whether hyperrealism, romantic impressionism or folk art excites you – here on the pages of Arabella you can experience a gallery exhibit with over 300 pages of art and editorial. In total, some 600 pieces of art grace our pages, and allow the reader a once in a lifetime visual adventure. Even better – this experience happens four times a year.
 When you tire of the art, though I don’t know how that could be possible, you can take a languid stroll through the gardens – and wander the interiors – of some superbly beautiful homes in California, Italy and France. Architecture and design to inspire and help us imagine a different way of living. While not all of us can live in these romantic locales, we can create our own version of a colourful and unique home. 
 At Arabella we believe that art changes our everyday experience and enhances the way we see the world.

For the Love of All Things Art best describes an issue packed with 12 spectacular artists and their unique and inspiring stories. How to decorate a white kitchen will get you thinking anew of this consistent standard. A beautiful home full of old world charm and new world ideas with an art collection from all over the world will inspire you to start collecting with a renewed vigor. Our short story section will get you reading again. Our feature story – The Nation Builders is a unique visual portrayal of the Prime Ministers of Canada and their unique vision and history. This is a great issue just out for the holiday season and will give you lots of ideas on art to collect and design as well as decorating inspiration.

Come take a journey through a wide arrangement of short stories, beautiful Paris apartments and a glorious selection of outstanding artists. Both landscape, floral, abstract and sculpture are included in this stunning array of talent and beauty. There are over 17 different artists in this issue and each one has a unique and truly special story to tell.

Arabella Summer Harvest 2016 is like a great painting . It took a little time but what emerged, I think, is a collage of color, movement, laughter and soul.
           
This is THE ART ISSUE - celebrating a total of 19 unique, gifted and interesting artists. The end of summer is perfect for basking in the last days of relaxation and warmth, and a great time to explore the lives and work of these talented individuals. I see a few pieces that would work in my collection, and I am sure you will too.
            There will be lots of time to look at beautiful rooms and decor when fall arrives; so many home and design magazines to purchase; stunning architecture and exquisite rooms to draw you in. Veranda and House Beautiful are perennial favorites.

We have art to make you smile, art exploding with color, beautiful landscapes from places only the mind can see, unique critters and characters, glimpses of days gone by, and creative journeys exploring our inner beings. We have art for your heart, body and soul, and I hope it will transfix and empower you as it does me. For without color, beauty and creativity what is the point?
            The artists stories in this issue are not in alphabetical order. They are not in the order of how they paint, nor are they in the order of selling price. I have put them in a riotous, roller coaster ride of color and contrast, the better for you to catch each and every one of them along the way. There are accomplished artists, achieving artists and aspiring artists in this collection. All full of talent and passion, and every one of them a truly gifted professional. Some of them I have known about for years, others are new friends, and it has been a true privilege to work with each of them on this issue.

Welcome to Arabella Spring 2015. We hope you love this issue as much as all of us enjoyed putting it together. One of the things that we have tried to add more of, for this issue, is architecture and we are fortunate to have three beautiful homes portrayed on the pages of our spring issue.

Architecture and Design
It takes many things to make a home your own and establish your personal style. Art in both the home and garden defines who you are and personalizes your house like nothing else can. Like any painting that has a great frame, art can enhance the beauty around you. But, if you take that one step further and personalize both your home and garden you create a perfect framework for you and your lifestyle.
Not all of us are fortunate enough to have Richard Landry of Landry Design Group design and build our home, but we can wish and maybe some of us can. Richard is a great example of someone who designs and creates a masterpiece with the art, architecture and design in mind. 
For this issue we have chosen one of Richard’s homes to be our front cover. This was one of the few photographs that delivers what Arabella is all about. Art, Architecture and Design - and this house showcases all of these components beautifully.
As with all the homes created by Landry Design Group you are always amazed at how the home seems to effortlessly belong to the land upon where it sits. Whether modern, classic, rural country or cutting edge the property and the home go together, the relationship is very clear. The landscape enhances the architecture and the grounds lead to the magnificent home.
This is very true of the lovely four season home in Mont Tremblant which was built on a beautiful wooded site on the edge of the lake. Tremblant presented a unique opportunity to build a family home among existing mature trees and boulder outcroppings, while also providing generous outdoor recreational space and expansive views across the lake.

Arabella Autumn Harvest 2014 brings alive the artwork of some of the best artists in North America. Colorful landscapes, innovative scratch board and truly beautiful sculptures. This is a magazine that will appeal to all art lovers and collectors. Whether you collect landscape, figurative, floral, impressionistic or contemporary art we have over 18 ‘artists to collect’ to choose from. We offer the reader a colorful journey of art in all its forms. Each painter or sculpture a joy to behold or own.  Come visit a young gallery owner, Michael Warren, at Madrona Gallery, and see how he has become quickly known in such a vast playing field.  And if you ever fancied yourself living in a castle, immerse yourself in 22 pages of someone who did just that. He and his designer renovate a castle in Umbria and now is living more than the ‘good life’. 

We share Part II of Normand Hudon, one of the best cartoon and satire artists to come out of Quebec. His brilliant and color works are both humorous and cutting with precise lines and vibrant color.
