"True love heals... and never forgets!"

When Kristy and Andrew Mackenzie were in a near-fatal motorcycle accident, Andrew suffered from amnesia. Memories of the past 29 years of their lives together were gone. Kristy was determined to help her husband remember, but the only medicine she had to offer was love!

On June 19, 2022, Kristy Mackenzie lay in a Charlottesville, Virginia, ICU with a dozen broken bones, a punctured lung and a concussion. A distracted driver had run a stop sign doing 50 mph, striking the motorcycle Kristy and her husband, Andrew, were riding home from a family get-together.

The pain was excruciating, but Kristy wasn't focused on her own injuries.

"Where's your dad?" she asked her grown daughters, Lorelai and Amanda.

"He's down the hall. He's in bad shape, but the doctors are hopeful," Amanda assured her, and Lorelai showed Kristy a photo she'd snapped. Though relieved, the sight of Andrew-her first and only love connected to all those tubes and wires was more than Kristy could bear.

"I have to go to him," she insisted. But there was something they needed her to know first.

"Dad doesn't know us," Amanda choked. "He thinks it's 1993. The doctors say he has amnesia." When a nurse wheeled Kristy to Andrew's bedside, he clutched her hand. He knows me, she swallowed. But there was a lost look in his eyes.

The past 29 years...their whole lives together...were gone.

I have to get him back, Kristy's heart ached.
