The return of Kermit Erasmus to Orlando Pirates on transferdeadline day in September after mutually terminating his Mamelodi Sundowns contract was described as a major coup in the football fraternity considering the striker's previous history.

He joined a side that hardly looked convincing in the final third in spite of ticking all the other boxes - good buildups, organised defence and creating enough chances to bury the opposition. according to coach José Riveiro.
