PLAYER POWER FLEXES ITS MUSCLE

The Bosman ruling, which came into effect in 1995, has done wonders for the beautiful game by creating free trade between teams and players. It has allowed freedom of movement and when one's contract expires there isn't a transfer fee that has to be paid.

Player power has obviously become stronger over the years and the recent Lassana Diarra case has strengthened their hand within Europe. However, some players are pushing it too far and contracts aren't being respected.
