WHY WE HAVE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS

The length of a day, in terms of daylight hours, varies drastically by season and location on Earth. Our planet is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees in relation to its orbital plane around the Sun. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer is experienced when the North Pole is tilted towards the Sun, while the Southern Hemisphere experiences winter. Meanwhile, the equator experiences the same ratio of daylight to night hours throughout the year.
