Wrong take on ‘wrong’ claim

Climate scientists use a range of scenarios in climate models to make predictions of future rates of global heating.

As the Met Office explains, the scenarios are based on different assumptions about population growth, economic development, technological innovation and attitudes to social and environmental sustainability.

The climate scientists have just retired a scenario named RCP8.5, the extreme “worst case” emissions pathway that imagined runaway use of coal pushing the planet 4.5°C hotter by 2100.
