LAST Wednesday, Glastonbury Wyrral Park hosted City of Wells in a four-rink men’s friendly.

The home side lost on two rinks and drew on another, however City of Wells only just won by four shots overall on an enjoyable day.

Rink scores, Wyrral Park 58 City of Wells 62: Rob Counsell, Frank Piercy, Graham Creasey, Ray Morgan 14-14; Eddie Norris, Bob Lansom, Trevor Murray 14-16; Colin Simon, Ralph Packer, David Willis, George Skelton 11-20; Ron Atherton, Peter Lander, Andy Perry, Dave Atkins 19-12.

The following afternoon, the ladies were at home to Paulton in a Wild League Triples game. Starting their campaign, the hosts earned ten league points to Paulton’s two with a 58-38 success.

Rink scores, Wyrral Park 58 Paulton 38: Irene Knight, Jan White, Kath Skelton 19-15; Joan Ryder, Jenny Clare, Maggie Timms 27-7; Alison Lansom, Mary Gray, Sue Perry 12-16.

On Saturday, in the Somerset County League South West One Division at Ilminster C, Glastonbury Wyrral Park picked up their first two points of the season despite being well beaten 2-1 on rinks and 75-50 overall.
