'Difficult decision' to close popular pub

ALOCAL pub closed for the final time at the weekend.

‘The Bay Tree, in Castle Cary, saw its last pint pulled on Sunday, October 5, with the current management attributing the closure to the financial climate being in “disarray”.
‘The Bay Tree has been a local fixture for many years and holds Grade-II listed status. Following the announcement of the closure, the pub has been put up for sale on Rightmove with an asking price of £465,000.
