PORTHILL Park fifths held their nerve to win by four runs against Congleton seconds in NSSCL Division Seven.

P Allman (40), A Marriott (34) and T Smith (33) joined forces to guide Porthill Park to 173 all out.

R Booth picked up 3-33 for the home side, with G Clarke striking twice.

S Stubbs hit 10 fours in a fine 77 in Congleton's post-tea response, but it wasn't quite enough.

They were bowled out for 169 as E Turner and Marriott scooped 4-25 and 4-31 respectively.

Crewe seconds won by eight wickets on their visit to Sandbach 2nd XI.

Luke Williams' 26 was backed up by 16 from Andy Ford as Sandbach reached 107 all out.

Johnathan Bourne (4-14) and Michael Whittingham (3-18) did the damage with the ball.

It proved to be a relatively easy run chase for Crewe as Puneeth Nidamanuri (30), Haveesh Alluri (25no), Hamish Howard (20) and Max Gay (19no) dealt with batting business.
