Tom Cleverley 'ready to attack' important period

TOM Cleverley believes Plymouth Argyle are embarking on a run of games which will shape what the rest of the season holds for them.

- By CHRIS ERRINGTON

The Pilgrims are taking on fifth-placed AFC Wimbledon in League One at Home Park today as they return to action after a two-week break due to international call-ups for Brendan Galloway, Conor Hazard and Law McCabe. That will then be followed by five consecutive away matches in three different competitions in the league, the Emirates FA Cup and the Vertu Trophy.

There is even the potential for that sequence to be extended to six successive games on the road if Argyle's league match at home to Bradford City on Saturday, November 15 is postponed due to international call ups.

Cleverley said: "First of all, I think it helps that our away form has took a turn for the better in recent weeks. I don't think we look at it and think 'That's going to be a more challenging set of fixtures'.

"They are all challenging but I don't think we look at it and think 'That's real tough'. Logistically and travel we have to be smart, and we have to do the best thing for the players so they are ready to perform.

"It's very unusual, and the Bradford game could also be in doubt with international call-ups as well, so it might be six games. One game at a time. We will prepare the best we can to win each one. We are not going to be making any excuses about it."
