High-octane action at three-day Ruckus festival

Albion's Brickfields stadium is used to seeing plenty of high-octane action but nothing like on Saturday, when it swapped rucks for the Ruckus music, beer and food festival.
The three-day event, celebrating the rugby club's 150th anniversary and raising cash for charity, was a vibrant delight, with ex-Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan delivering a blistering set of stomping, glam-inspired indie rock.
Entering with a fizzing Shout it Out, the singer was here, there and everywhere on stage and never let the energy levels drop, ably supported by a dynamic band, particularly bassist Ele Lucas. In a 75-minute set Meighan had the audience bouncing, arm waving and singing along as he even led them in chants of "green army" and "oggy, oggy, oggy" to show he'd done his Janner homework.
