OCD: Bogo quake damage to national infra close P1.9B

The estimated damage to national infrastructure from the recent Bogo City earthquake has risen to nearly P1.9 billion, according to Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Deputy Administrator Assistant Secretary Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV.

“Sa Cebu, halos 1.9 billion na po ang estimated cost ng damage in terms of national infrastructure,” Alejandro said.

He clarified, however, that the figure does not include private property losses.

“Pero hindi pa po kasama d’yan ang mga private properties... ongoing pa po ang ating assessment d’yan,” he added.

Based on the latest situational report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), a total of 773 infrastructure units sustained damage, though the report did not specify which were government or private properties.

Nearly 80,000 homes were affected, with 5,343 totally destroyed and 74,616 partially damaged.

Eight roads and 20 bridges were reported damaged, with 10 bridges and four roads still impassable as of the latest update—hampering mobility and relief operations.
