Indigent patients can now use DSWD guarantee letters at Mercury Drug stores

Indigent beneficiaries of guarantee letters (GLs) issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) can now enjoy access to quality medicines, as Mercury Drug Corporation has committed to honoring GLs as valid payment for medicine purchases.

Rep. Wilbert Lee of the AGRI Party-list lauded the DSWD, led by Secretary Rex Gatchalian, for forging the partnership with the country's leading drugstore chain, making it easier for more Filipinos to access essential medicines.
Starting Monday, June 2, a total of 92 Mercury Drug outlets across various regions will begin accepting GLs issued to beneficiaries under the DSWD's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) and the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).
