Guidelines for inter-agency committee on International Humanitarian Law out

The Marcos administration has released the implementing guidelines for Executive Order No. 77, which established an inter-agency committee on International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

Signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by authority of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on November 22, 2024, the executive order created the Inter-Agency Committee on IHL to uphold the Philippines' international human rights obligations.
The implementing guidelines were made public through the Official Gazette last Friday.
According to the document, the guidelines outline the mechanisms, standards, and procedures to ensure the effective enforcement of the order. The goal is to enable substantive coordination and cooperation among agencies on IHL-related concerns.
