|March 18, 2025
The Maharashtra government has mandated that all private companies establish Vishakha Committees to safeguard women's safety and dignity at the workplace.

Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced the decision in the Legislative Council while responding to member Chitra Wagh's query. She noted that some private establishments had yet to implement these committees, prompting the government to conduct regular compliance checks.
