UTS boss calls for North East fans to get behind team in play-off final

DUNSTON UTS manager Jon McDonald has urged his side to make their own luck as they look to claim promotion into the Northern Premier League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.
-
After suffering the heartbreak of a penalty shoot-out defeat in last season's East Division play-off final at Stockton Town, McDonald's side are back within 90 minutes of a historic promotion into the third tier of the non-league game following a dramatic night at the UTS Stadium in midweek.
With their play-off semi-final tie against Emley looking to be heading towards the lottery of penalties, Dunston youngster Dan Turner fired home a last-minute winner to send his side into a home play-off final with Stocksbridge Park Steels.
McDonald reflected on the contrasting emotions of coming out on each end of a play-off tie and stressed his players are now fully focused on taking their biggest step yet and earning a place in the club's history books.
