Decrease in reports of anti-social behaviour

REPORTS of antisocial behaviour have reduced by almost a quarter in part of the region in the last year.

Northumbria Police witnessed a 23% reduction in reports of antisocial behaviour in Sunderland compared to this time last year, as well as a 16% reduction in overall crime in the west and south areas of the city.

The force said officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have focused their efforts on the issues members of the public have told them matter most in their local area — including tackling motorbike disorder and antisocial behaviour.
