Police 'cannot cope' with soaring extremism in UK

POLICE “cannot cope” with soaring reports of extremism and lack the resources or legal tools to keep the public safe, senior officers have warned.

The warnings were issued by Laurence Taylor, Assistant Commissioner at the Metropolitan Police, and Paul Giannasi, the hate crime policy lead at the National Police Chiefs’ Council.
