Why Nabi and Chiefs are at odds

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly on the verge of severing ties with head coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team.

This comes just days after he ended a 10-year trophy drought that had loomed over the club like a dark cloud. The opponents Chiefs had to overcome to end the long-standing drought, which had come to define the once illustrious Glamour Boys, were not easy. Amakhosi needed to overcome Stellenbosch FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates to secure the coveted cup. In five Nedbank Cup matches, Amakhosi scored 14 goals while conceding only four. However, the form on display in the Cup success is certainly not what they've shown in the Betway Premiership. Their league form shows that they have lost a record 12 matches out of 26. With only 24 goals scored and 31 conceded, they have managed just eight wins and six draws. Based on the statements made in the media by the club Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, it appears that they plan to "review" Nabi's first 10 months at the conclusion of the season. What was Nabi's mandate in the first season?

After leaving Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat after just one season at the helm, Nasreddine Nabi penned a twoyear deal with an option to extend.
