Vuyani Joni: Legend, in memory of the late Zodwa Khoza and celebrating Women’s Month, how do you remember this pioneer?

Tebogo Moloi: You know, my brother, i taimer yakhe (her father), the Chairman (Dr Irvin Khoza), asked us to make sure we leave a legacy at Orlando Pirates, but we didn’t really understand what he meant. She broke it down to us and made us realise, as we had already forgotten, what Pirates stands for and how important the team's spiritual owners (supporters) are. She was close to them and always saw them as part of our family. She reminded us of the impact we have out there whenever we are wearing the club’s badge. What the club means to the spiritual owners, and she revoked something that was dead in us, something that the Chairman had told us about. Zo made us realise how important we were to the team and the responsibility that comes with being part of the team and how we could grow it. Enye into (Another thing) she was good at was sharing how Pirates was formed and the importance of identifying as many youngsters to come and play for Pirates as possible. That is why players like “Cheesy” (Lebohang Mokoena), Gift Leremi and all those 13 development players were promoted to the senior team. The most important thing I liked about her was the mother-figure role she played in all our development players and even the senior team. She would make sure that the development players felt the mother's love and she would go as far as monitoring the people these boys were dating.

VJ: Serious?

The Chairman and CEO never panicked!

Siwelele FC had a rather difficult start to the 2025/26 season. The club was established in 2025 after the purchase of SuperSport United’s PSL status and was renamed Siwelele FC. To make matters worse, Siwelele suffered six defeats in their first 10 league games. Yet, the club kept faith in coach Lehlohonolo Seema. After all, the man has been around the block, and with over a decade in the dugout, he’s capable of doing the job. In this interview with Tiyani wa ka Mabasa, Seema opens up about stabilising the team and also looks back on the season.
