MILOS READY TO BATTLE A LEGEND

LIVERPOOL defender Milos Kerkez is ready to mark £116million fellow new boy Florian Wirtz in training to prove he is worth a place in Arne Slot’s team this season.

‘The champions paid Bournemouth £40million for the Serbian-born Hungary left-back and Kerkez, 21, J realized he was taking a huge step up in class when he encountered the pace of passing in his first training session with his new club.

But Kerkez insists he is ready for the challenge thanks to British record signing Wirtz following the German's arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in June.

And he added: “Obviously Florian is very talented.

“All the guys know because everyone watches him in the Bundesliga.

“He’s a special player. He’s really technically gifted.

“I don’t see that level too much or too often but he does special things — maybe too much in a single training session but also in a game.

“Would I mark him?

“For me, it’s no problem.”
