Del hails benefits of Dubai camp

- BY ANDY NEWPORT

HEARTS IN RIGHT PLACE

IT'S certainly not a jolly. But Derek McInnes firmly believes that the team who socialises together succeeds together.

‘And that's why the Hearts boss will make sure the hours his players spend grafting under the Dubai sunshine next week will be matched by the opportunities they're given to grab some quality time as.a team off the pitch.

Squad unity isn't much of an issue at Tynecastle these days, with the jubilant Jambos flying high at the top of the table.

But McInnes reckons topping up the camaraderie levels will be every bit as important as the fitness work his side do when they make use of next week's blank schedule following their Scottish Cup exit to fly out for a mini sunshine camp.

Back in Del's day as a member of the star-studded Rangers side ofthe 90s, team bonding sessions ‘were more often than not held by the bar.

Nowadays, they're more likely to be staged on the padel court.

But McInnes believes the benefit can be just as intoxicating for a team looking to toast a remarkable title triumph come the end of the season.
