Illegal immigrant rumours dismissed by the council

RUMOURS circulating on social media claiming people are living in Rossendale illegally have been quashed by the council.
Rossendale Council say rumours about 30 'illegal immigrants' living in Bacup are 'unfounded, adding it will 'not tolerate
The local authority has clarified a single family were living at King George’s Chambers, Bacup who have a right to be in the UK and the council responsible for placing the family there, did so without following any agreed protocol or informing Rossendale Council or Lancashire County Council, and the family have since returned to the area of the council
