Programme launched by Erskine Veterans Charity
Erskine Veterans Charity marked Armed Forces Day with the launch of a major new home support service to aid former servicemen and women in post-service life.
The £330,000 Erskine Veterans Home Support programme will deliver tailored, in-home assistance and companionship to veterans across West Scotland.
Following a successful £250,000 pilot programme in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, which recorded 100 per cent satisfaction among participants, the home support service is now being rolled out more widely to include parts of East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde and Glasgow.
Entirely funded by Erskine, the programme offers veterans regular support designed to improve their independence, physical and emotional well-being and social connection with no cost to the individual.
