Drunk yob threw chairs in pub and threatened men

A Renfrew man saw red and threw chairs about his local pub after being told he wasn’t being sold alcohol.

Out-of-control Kevin Burns was refused booze at Renfrew’s Western Bar in October last year due to being “heavily intoxicated”.

The 41-year-old lost his temper and began shouting, swearing and throwing chairs about.

Burns, of Newmains Road, then went on to make threats towards a bar staff member and a customer stating he would return and stab them.

The procurator fiscal depute told Paisley Sheriff Court: “Around 5.15pm on Sunday, October 13, the witness was within the Western Bar working as a member of bar staff.

“At this time, the accused entered the pub heavily intoxicated.
