Hart's brings back à la carte and roasts after 'howls of protest'

WHEN it seemed like à la carte dining had fallen out of fashion, an upmarket Nottingham restaurant made the switch to a more casual menu.

Hart's Kitchen ditched Sunday roasts and three-course dinners in favour of a “substantial snack menu”.

Not long after the closure of World Service - the city centre's other longstanding fine dining restaurant - Hart's shook it up with sandwiches and dishes such as pasta bolognese, chicken schnitzel, vegetable curry and fish and chips. However, it turned out that wasn't what customers wanted after all.

Now the upmarket restaurant within the boutique hotel of the same name at the top of Standard Hill has made a U-turn after protests from its affluent customers. Sunday roasts, à la carte with starters, main courses and desserts, and afternoon tea have returned.
