Fair-goers initimidated by 'masked-up' youths on bikes

A WINTER Wonderland stallholder has warned that “almost feral” children are spoiling the event as two youngsters were seen wielding machetes near the market.

The stallholder, who asked not to be named, said the problems began before the market even opened, during the service of remembrance outside the Council House on Armistice Day.

He said: “They came out from behind the Council House, smoking a joint, blowing it straight in the face of a woman who was stood there and just stared at her and walked off.

“It's that low-level, horrible intimidation that's happening all the time at the moment. It's really noticeable because people have been put off coming into town.

“People in wheelchairs, women with children, none of them are immune to kids picking on them.”
