Mayor Vico tells city employees: Prioritize work over politics

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto reminded all city government employees to prioritize their work, which they have sworn to perform properly and truthfully, over politics.

Sotto issued the reminder as the midterm elections draw near and local and national campaigns have heated up.
He reminded city employees that while everyone has the freedom of expression and is entitled to his or her own opinion, government employees must always be free from partisan politics.

Rev up growth engine despite latest GDP growth decline
The latest reading from the Philippine economy serves as a cautionary note. In the third quarter the pace of growth has flagged. According to official data, the Philippine real GDP grew by 4.0 percent year-on-year in Q3 2025 — the slowest expansion in more than four years, down from 5.5 percent in Q2. On a quarter-on-quarter, seasonally-adjusted basis, it expanded only 0.4 percent, below forecasts of 0.8 per cent.
