Classes, gov't work suspended in NCR, other regions; DOJ resets flood control probe

Work in government offices on Nov. 10 and classes in all levels in Metro Manila and other regions on Nov. 10 to 11 have been suspended due to the forecasted major impacts of Super Typhoon Uwan.

Malacañang issued Memorandum Circular No. 106 on Sunday, Nov. 9, suspending the work in government in the National Capital Region (NCR), Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Regions 1, 2, 3, 4-A, 4-B, 5, and 8 on Nov. 10.

Classes in all levels in these regions, including Region 6 and 7 were suspended on Nov. 10 to 11.

"Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and in view of the forecasted major impacts that will be brought about by Super Typhoon 'Uwan', work in government offices in the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V and VIII is hereby suspended on 10 November 2025," the memorandum stated.

"Further, classes at all levels in the aforementioned Regions, Region VI, Region VII, and the Negros Island Region are also suspended on 10 and 11 November 2025," it added.

The memorandum noted that agencies responsible for basic, vital and health services, preparedness and response duties must continue to remain operational.

All other government agencies in the said regions may implement alternate work arrangements, as may be necessary, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations, according to the memorandum order.
