Boracay still safe for tourists – police

The Philippine National Police maintained on Monday that world-famous Boracay Island remains safe amid the attack on the son and nephew of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada by three young men over the weekend.
"The safety and security of both tourists and locals remain a top priority," said Police Lt. Col. Mar Joseph Ravelo, chief of police of Malay town in Aklan province.
The senator's son, Julian Ejercito, and nephew were mauled by the suspects while walking on the front beach around 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 24.
