Loan 'might be best for Wirtz'

LIVERPOOL Champions League winner Dietmar Hamann believes Florian Wirtz could leave Anfield in January after claiming the Germany international doesn't look capable of making the grade in the Premier League.

Wirtz has experienced a difficult start to life at Liverpool since making a £116million move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and is yet to contribute a goal or assist in the top flight after 11 appearances.

The 23-year-old has missed the last two games with a muscle injury but has a chance of making the matchday squad for Sunday's Premier League clash at West Ham United.

And Hamann has questioned whether Wirtz will be around at Liverpool for the second half of the season.

"Could Florian Wirtz still leave Liverpool on loan in January? Yeah," said the former Germany World Cup finalist.
