BLUES STRIKER THANKS FANS FOR HELPING HIM BREAK HIS DUCK

- BY MATT JONES ECHO Reporter matt.jones@reachplc.com @MattJfootball

Thierno Barry has joked that Everton supporters should pull back on their social media encouragement after he scored his first goal for the club on Saturday.

The striker slotted the Blues’ second goal in the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, bringing an end to a tough run since arriving from Villarreal in the summer. It was the first time he had netted in 13 Premier League outings.

While the goal took a while to come, Everton supporters have been unwavering in their support for the France youth international both at Hill Dickinson Stadium and online.

But speaking after he broke his duck on Saturday, Barry said there was actually a lack of messages from fans in the buildup to the game with Forest.
