Wright and Ward both receive club accolades

ASHLEY Wright won two accolades at Harborough Athletic Club's end of year awards, writes Geshom Nyathi.

He was named the Club Athlete of the Year and also Senior Athlete of the Year at the lavish ceremony held at the Three Swans Hotel in Market Harborough.

Wright, who is also the men’s team captain, competed in 48 events over the season and set an impressive 19 club records in the men’s over-35 age group division.

“I enjoyed the season a lot, and I’m really happy to win this award for the first time,” said Wright, who received a shield engraved with the names of past winners and a certificate from Neil Williams, general manager of the Three Swans Hotel.
