BBC's second sorry for airing Tourette's sufferer's racial slur

BBC bosses have had to apologise twice after failing to edit out an N-word outburst at the Baftas.

- BY TOM BRYANT

The racial slur was shouted out by Tourette's sufferer John Davidson at black actors Delroy Lindo and Michael B Jordan as they presented a prize on Sunday.

But despite a two-hour time delay, the offending word targeting the Sinners stars was not cut from the BBC1 coverage.

Last night Bafta also apologised after some guests felt it had made a gross failing.

Following the incident, the BBC said sorry for “any offence caused by the language heard” but stopped short of apologising for not removing the comment.

Yesterday, bosses pulled the ceremony from iPlayer and issued a second apology.

A BBC spokesman said: "Some viewers may have heard strong and offensive language during the Bafta Film Awards.
